Planning & Project Controls Engineer

A Planning & Project Controls Engineer is required by a global sustainable energy provider to work on site in Exeter and support other projects across the South West as and when required. The aim of the role is to provide project planning and controls support whilst ensuring company policies and procedures are implemented and maintained with strict deadlines met.

You will be responsible for preparing detailed project plans for a portfolio of Design and Build schemes, developing project plans that meet the overall requirements of the business, its clients, subcontractors and suppliers. You will continuously monitor active project plans and accurately reflect progress, identifying issues with meeting key deadlines and objectives. You will assist in the production of project progress reports based on critical path analysis, earned values and project actual progress. You will also identify and validate delays and assist with delay analysis and claims. In addition you will produce and manage resource programmes for the design and delivery teams' workload and ensure all project specific programmes are cost and resource loaded. You will manage approximately 2-4 projects concurrently and projects typically have a value of 5m - 45m. This role is initially offered as a 12-month contract but it is highly likely that they will be extended or even made permanent.

You will be an experienced Planner with strong project planning, project controls and project reporting experience. Experience within an M&E or energy environment would be advantageous but is not essential. You will be highly competent in the use of various planning tools including MS Project and Primavera p6. A CSCS card is also highly desirable whilst excellent communication and influencing skills are a prerequisite.
